Emmaus is proud to announce coaches in the two final positions: Robert Kimble as Head Men's Basketball Coach, and Luke Wilkerson as Assistant Men's Basketball Coach.
Robert graduated in 1999 with his Bachelor’s in Biblical Studies. While attending Emmaus, Robert played all four years of basketball. Robert has over 12 years of coaching experience at the Collegiate and High School levels in the Dubuque Community School District. Robert is an Athletic Director for the Dubuque Community Y. Robert and his wife Nellie have 5 daughters, Cheryl, Cori, Kayla, Nakiah, and Affrica.
Luke was appointed Athletic Director in the summer of 2012. He received his Bachelor's in Bible Exposition & Theology from Emmaus in 2011, and worked in 2011-12 for Enrollment Services as Admissions Counselor and Athletic Recuiter. At the conclusion of his four seasons playing basketball for the Eagles, Lucas climbed the charts to rank 1st in career assists, 1st in career steals, 5th in rebounds, and 7th in points scored. He and his wife Brianna (Doran) were married in the spring of 2012, and are expecting their first child in the fall.
These two are the final coaches announced for next year's intercollegiate teams. Here is this year's coaching roster: Ben Brown as Head Men's Soccer Coach with Lewis Shin as Assistant Coach, Ben Strautmann as Head Women's Volleyball Coach with Hannah Denny as Assistant Coach, Robert Kimble as Head Men's Basketball Coach with Luke Wilkerson as Assistant Coach, and Kyle Graw as Head Women's Basketball Coach with Ashleigh Wilson as Assistant Coach.
Luke, as Athletic Director, is excited about the new lineup: "I feel that the Lord has brought 8 individuals who, first and foremost, have a strong passion for discipling young men and women. Secondly, they know what it takes to win and be competitive in their sports. Emmaus athletics is definitely on the right path to succeed and be relevant at the intercollegiate level."
This new coaching lineup comes in the year of the largest incoming athletic recruitment. "Having so many incoming recruits is a really exciting aspect to this upcoming year," said Luke. "I have full confidence that our coaches will be able to integrate them into their systems and have them ready to play by opening day."
