The Lady Eagles were ready to bounce back after a hard loss against Faith the night before. Emmaus fell behind early as Barclay took a 4-0 lead. After a quick timeout the Lady Eagles were right in it taking several plays in a row. Neither team was stepping up to take the first step as they were trading points almost all the way through. However, Barclay came away with a close one making a few less mistakes (23-25). “This game was ours for the taking, both teams were giving the ball right back to each other we just failed to capitalize, “said Coach Strautmann. On to Game 2 and Emmaus came out much quicker than the previous set taking an early lead. Once again both teams were missing serves and refusing to make a run. Barclay came out hitting much more effectively at the end of the set to take it (23-25). Normally panic mode would set in for the team down 0-2 but Emmaus came out strong once again looking like they would push it to game 4. However, Barclay continued to find holes in the defense and the Lady Eagles could not answer back (20-25). Emmaus would receive little time to think over the tough loss as they would be playing Calvary soon after.
