Overland High School Standout Gelinas Inks with Emmaus

Kia Gelinas signing her intent to play basketball with the Emmaus Lady Eagles
Kia Gelinas of Denver, Colorado has signed a letter of intent to further her basketball career at Emmaus Bible College as a Lady Eagle. As a senior for Overland High School, Gelinas averaged 8.4 points and 7.9 rebounds per game while being named Ms. Overland Basketball, 2nd team all conference, honorable mention all-league, and being selected for the 2018 5A All Star game. Coach Graw had this to say, "Kia is one tough player. She clears room in the post like she is 6'0 despite standing 5'7". She will give us more depth at the post position. Kia reminds me of NBA Hall of Famer Charles Barkley, undersized but tough as nails. What I love most about Kia is her passion for the game and her desire to honor Christ with her gifts and talents. She pursues greatness through putting Christ's glory at the forefront while leading others to the good news of the gospel."

Gelinas will graduate with a 3.0 GPA and has been involved in clubs such as Young Life and Black Students Alliance all while being active in her local Church and Youth Group at Colorado Community Church.
