Dubuque, Iowa — The Emmaus Eagles showed heart and hustle over the weekend, closing out Saturday with a strong effort in a 48-40 defensive battle against Free Lutheran Bible College (FLBC).
January 17, 2025 - Emmaus 44, CCCB 69
The Emmaus Eagles put up a determined effort Friday night at home, falling 69-44 to Central Christian College of the Bible (CCCB), but finding bright spots on the boards and at the free-throw line.
Erin McKenna led the Eagles with 12 points, 6 rebounds, and 3 assists, while Rachel Barrett anchored the paint with 12 rebounds and 9 points. Jenna Lostutter gave Emmaus a solid lift off the bench, contributing 8 points and 5 rebounds in 17 minutes of play.
Despite shooting struggles from the field, the Eagles capitalized at the line, hitting 80% of their free throws (12-15). Emmaus also pulled down 35 rebounds and recorded 6 steals on the night.
January 18, 2025 - Emmaus 40, FLBC 48
The Emmaus Eagles put together a strong effort on Saturday, coming up just short in a 48-40 defensive battle against Free Lutheran Bible College (FLBC).
Erin McKenna delivered another standout performance, leading all scorers with 23 points while grabbing 10 rebounds and dishing out 4 assists. Kate Janzen added 17 points on efficient 7-of-11 shooting, including three makes from beyond the arc. Rachel Barrett contributed 12 rebounds and 2 steals to anchor the defensive effort.
The Eagles shot 41.8% from the field and hit seven three-pointers, staying within striking distance throughout. Sydney Mulgrew added 5 points and 7 boards off the bench to round out a solid team effort.
