Emmaus Shuts Out Ambassadors

Joplin, MO - September 20, 2024 - In a showcase of their continued their strong season, the Eagles won their match against conference opponent Ozark Christian 2-0. Emmaus Improves to 4-2-1 on the season, with their only two losses being against NCAA opponents.
The Eagles continue to thrive in close matches, scoring one goal on the day by Josh Matte, and an own goal by the Ambassadors. Tucker Kapas garnered another shutout on the season while recording 7 saves. The Ambassadors had 14 shots and 7 on target for the match.
"We played a really disciplined and solid game today" notes Coach McHugh. "Our passing and attacking rhythm picked-up throughout the match, and so I was really pleased. The 2nd goal for us was an own goal, but was well deserved off of a good cross from Louis Matte and an aggressive run to the near post from Jake Matte. James Staudinger and Jacob Davis game us excellent performances on the outside, and so overall, I like the progress that we are making and getting another shutout is a credit to Tucker and our whole team defense."
